Wonderful job ..

Sharon Bennison (nee

Hello, Anna,

What a wonderful website!! My maiden name was Moran and my mum's maiden
name was Alty. I have passed the details of your site to my cousin in
Walton (originally from the Crosby/Waterloo Area) and also to my
brothers , both of whom are very impressed, especially when it has been
done by somebody so young!!

Keep up the excellent work.

Sharon

David Thomas

Hi Anna,
What a superb site for one so young. I don't live that far away I'm
afraid. I live in Walton, but was born and bred in the Crosby /
Waterloo area. My mum still lives in Endbutt Lane and it is through
researching her maiden name that my cousin passed your website onto me.
We found several "Alty's" that we didn't know of, so thanks for your
help. I have my own website although a lot different to yours and it
took me ages to build it so yours must have took some doing. Well done

David

Hi Wyn,

Yes Laura and I are related I have mailed you and Laura personally. I'm
sure you will both have lots to talk about having not spoken to each
other for so many years.

I presume by your E-mail address your in New Zealand, Laura is still in
Crosby.

Wyn Rankin

Dear Anna

What a feat for a young lady of your age. You are to be congratulated.
I haven't gone fully through everything yet but thought I would ask if
you could ask your father if he is one of the Tumilty's who used to
live in Norway Street in Waterloo. Which where I lived when I was a
child. I can remember a girl about my age who was named Laura
Tumilty. I am sure they will be connected with your family. They were
a lovely family, very well liked and respected. I am now 60 years of
age, so I hope your father may remember our family we lived opposite
them at 28 Norway Street and my family name was Dewsbury.

Lots of good wishes

Wyn Rankin

Matt Breslin

Dear Anna, I was astounded that someone so young as yourself could amass
so much information, it is a credit to you, and to all young people, to
let us older geezers know the abilities that young people possess and
put it to such wonderful use. I can see you as a very bright star on
the genealogy stage in the not to distant future. Thank for allowing
me the privelage to view such a wonderful site. Matt Breslin

ALEC STEVENS

It is a nice site and will obviously be ongoing for a long time. I
note that the church is of the Catholic faith and presume there must be
an Anglican church also, which I hope, given time you will chronicle
the headstones of. I am tracing my ancestry which is what led me to
your site. In the 19th century I had a branch of my family line
resident in Liverpool. I am in Wilthire, England and am now, as a
result of a bulletin board message, sharing information and searching
with an American 4th or 5th cousin of our shared line who I never knew
existed, some of whom emigrated from Liverpool.
Well done, good luck,
Alec [Stevens]

Phil Gerrie

A very Good Site Anna, I think your Dad, should give you a lot more
pocket money, than he does, for all the hard work you have put into
this site.
I know he wont like putting his hand into his deep pockets, because I
work with him !!!
Keep up the good work.
Phil Gerrie.

marilyn baldwin

What a wonderful web page. You have done a wonderful job. I live in
California, USA. thank you for helping people who live so far away
find out information on loved ones.

Bill Crompton

Frankly I'm amazed at the quality of your website. I know of similar
sites produced by people far older than you that are not nearly as
good.P
As an expatriate Crosbeian, living abroad, seeing the photo of the
church made me feel quite homesick.P
Keep up the good work.

Bill

Hello Anna,
Just wanted to say what a great site this is! You are to be
congratulated on all the work you have done and I hope will continue to
do and enjoy. I found it through the Lancsgen list. I notice there
are some SEDDONS buried in Little Crosby but I don't think they are
mine! My search names are ELSBY from Cheshire and Lancs and SEDDON
from the Boothstown area. I live in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
but was born in Tyldesley and came here in 1953 with my parents and
sister. Keep up the good work and I wish you all the best things in
life....

Joan Rooney

A wonderful find. My gt.gt.grandparents, Robert Lovelady of Formby and
Ann Shaw of Ince, are in your list of marriages. I think Ann Shaw's
mother, Mary Shaw nee Norris is buried here. Keep up the good work.

Thanks and God Bless,
Joan

I just wanted to stop in and say...."what a *brilliant* young lady
you are!!! Your ancestors would be bristlin' with 'pride' of you!

I stopped in on your site as I have been trying to locate the family of
Dr. John DUNN, who's wife died in the 1920's. They had a daughter
Margaret and a son, George Andrew.(that I know about).Dr DUNN's family
was from Ballyskeagh Tyrone and Foyleview farm, Ballykelly Londonderry.

Thank you for sharing your talents and interests with us!

Hi Anna,
I used to go to the church every Sunday when I was your age. I moved to
Italy later ,but I brought my Italian boyfriend and his family over so
I could get married in St Mary's. Thankyou for the web site, it brought
back great memories.

I AM ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED TO FIND YOU I AM SCOTTISH LIVING IN ENGLAND.I
FOUND MY ANCESTERS NAMED LEATHERBARROW IN THE CENSUS YOU PREPARED.
THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Peter Leadbetter

Well done!

This is a really good web site and an exceptional piece of work that
underpins it. I liked the links and thought that the whole concept of
living history is tremendous.I will spend a bot of time with the links -
you never know what starts from this!

I lived in Little Crosby with my parents from 1970-78 and my Dad still
lives on the greeen. As a student, I worked on the estate and know a
lot of the families that you have recorded

My mother Margaret Leadbetter was recently buried (Feb 2001)in the new
part of the graveyard - one of the most attractive graveyards - if
there ever can be such a thing.

My paternal Great Grandmother - Mary Seddon is buried in the front part
of the church along with my paternal grandparents: Henry and Mary
Leadbetter.

Keep up the good work!

Best wishes

Peter Leadbetter

Beth Forshaw

Anna, I am so amazed that you, at your age have such drive and
enthusiasm. Dealing with family history will take over your whole life,
its like a disease, and I have it too.
I found the site while browsing the name Forshaw, who came to Australia
from Wigan. They have left a few inquisitve in-laws out here who want
to know more and more.
Joe and I live near Port Macquarie, on the midnorth coast of New South
Wales, Australia. We share our 100 acres of bushland with all the
native animals and birds; can't grown a garden plot as the wallabies -&-
possums eat fruit and vegetables, just before we think they are ripe!!
I will be back to visit your site regularly, don't let it all become
too much and therefore a chore, enjoy
Beth Forshaw

Keith Blundell

Your site is wonderful. You can see from my surname why I'm interested
but sadly my family aren't related to the Blundells of Little Crosby,
more likely to be the ones from Ince. I only live in the south end of
Liverpool now but your site made me feel quite homesick for Saturday
afternoon walks around Little Crosby wall when I was little.

Keep up the good work.

Thomas Walsh

Hello Anna
For one so young you are doing a wonderful job and have a very good web
page. I found the page while searching for my father's brother who
migreated Dublin to Liverpool he was a shoe maker or surgical bootmaker
his name, Stephen Walsh. I live in Aldwick, near Bognor Regis, I came
to the UK in 1954, now retired I'm researching my family history. At
the moment my web page is down being reloaded.

Apart from my research in Dublin I have also been to the Mormon
Tabernacle Church in Salt Lake City but it takes so long to find
anything there you end up just sight seeing.

Thomas Fearon

Hello Anna,
Me and my Mum have been looking at your site for the first
time. We think it is very good. You have worked very hard. We noticed
that there are a couple of Fearons buried in Little Crosby. I wonder if
they are any relation?
I am sorry I am not sending this from some exotic location. We can see
the church from our bedroom windows!

Thank you

Thomas Fearon

Angela

Hi Anna,

I found your website through a search and found it rather amazing. I
have a daughter, almost 14, and I find it absolutely wonderful that you
have such drive and ambition to do such a project. I don't think my
daughter would be able to do it even with my help!!

I am searching for James Crossley, born approx. 1836, although he was
not Catholic, I was hoping to find a relative, or something. My James
was born in Liverpool and migrated to Newfoundland in 1855.
Unfortunately I can't find anything about him in England.

Anyway, good luck with your site and keep up the good work!!

Betty Smith

Hello Anna,
Hope you'll be feeling better soon. I found some Wainwrights on
your site in the cemetery. I haven't been able to find my
ggggrandfather, Morris Wainwright, born in Liverpool about 1763,
exactly where, I don't know. The two in section D86 doesn't seem to be
up yet. The ones in B18 were there. Is there more information
available on these Wainwrights? Haven't located the messages yet.
I am from Georgia, USA.
I think you are doing a great thing with this site. Good luck.

Well done Anna on your dilligence. Hope you are still enjoying

Conratulations on your wonderful site, you've done a great job.
I don't have family connections with your area but thought I would just
take a look. I live in Adelaide South Australia, originally from Wigan

All the best and well done!!

Judith (Fenner) Cote

Hi Anna,
Your site is great! I wouldn't even know where to begin to set one up
-&- I am 47 years old. I'm fairly new at geneaology just starting
shortly after my mothers' death in 1997. Her families name is Angell.
He was a endentured servant to Roger Williams. They came to America in
1631 on a ship named the Lyon. They originally settled in Salem,
Massachusettes but in 1636 Roger started acting up again -&- he fled to
Rhode Island. I live in West Warwick, Rhode Island. I'm forntunate
that both families (mothers' side "Angell" -&- fathers' side "Fenner"
have been in this state since the late 1630's. Keep up the good work.

Wanda Bullington-Sul

Hi Anna;

I hit the wrong key and lost my comments to you! Anyway, Nicholas's
parnets were a Mr. and Mrs. Billington Bullington. I found no
Bullington's listed, but Billington's were there. I am wondering why
the names are Billington Bullington. Their first child was given the
surname of Billington and the following children were given the surname
of Bullington. So very confusing to me!!

But, keep up the good work, and I'll keep looking for my elusive
ancestors!

God Bless

Hi Anna:

How wonderful your site is and how wonderful you are to do this. You
are doing an excellent job! This is so very interesting to me, as I
have been trying to trace my ancestors back to England through Nicholas
BULLINGTON.

Noreen O'More

Greetings Anna:

My mother's name was Anna Teresa Tumbelty, her aunt's name was also
Anna Teresa Tumbelty. I have been doing research on the Tumbelty name
for years, and made contact with your dad through his website. It's
been wonderful. And to see you are interested in geneology is great.
Not alot of young people are interested in their heritage - or anyone
else's for that matter. Keep up the good work! And continue to inspire
others as you do now.

your future work.
